The Spring Tine Rake is an integral part of proper synthetic turf maintenance. The Rake is designed to work with the Sports Turf Groomer as a “system,” which relieves compaction and results in improved turf conditioning, playability, and safety. It is available as an attachment to the Original GreensGroomer (Model 720) and the second generation Sports Turf Groomer (Model 920). The Spring Tine Rake comes in two versions, the new Front-Mount (STR-4) or traditional Rear-Mount (STR). Without damage to the turf fibers or backing, the Spring Tine Rake operates within the upper part of the turf profile by moving into the hardened infill and relieving compaction. The brushes on the Sports Turf Groomer then push and redistribute the infill, leveling the surface, prepping it for play.
The Spring Tine Rake attaches to the rear of the Synthetic Sports Turf Groomer, and consists of 3 rows of 28 tines, with 7/8 inch spacing between tines. Each row of tines has infinite adjustment and may be swung forward or backward and locked in any position, changing the level of aggressiveness. The Spring Tine Rake combs through the infill, relieving compaction and releasing trapped turf fibers. The GreensGroomer and Spring Tine Rake with Finishing Brush insure a safe, level playing surface in true one pass performance.
Designed as an attachment to the Synthetic Sports Turf Groomer, the Spring Tine Rake is an important part of synthetic turf conditioning. Infilled turf systems will compact with use. The Spring Tine Rake moves through the turf profile to lift and decompact the infill. The more frequent a field is used, the more frequent raking and groomer should occur.
FRONT OR REAR MOUNT
The Spring Tine Rake is available in two different models. The Rake itself is the same for both units, with different hardware for attaching to the Synthetic Sports Turf Groomer. The attachment points allow the Rake to be setup on current and legacy Synthetic Sports Turf Groomers — (the Original Model 720 and the Model 920 introduced in 2014).
NO DAMAGE TO TURF
The Spring Tine Rake will not damage the synthetic turf. At the factory setting, the Rake will comb though the turf and infill in the upper .5” to .75” of the turf profile. A more aggressive setting will drop the tines another .25”, far above the synthetic turf backing and seams.
The Spring Tine Rake consists of 3 tine shafts loaded with 42 adjustable tines set at 7/8 inch spacing. The tines are 3/16” in diameter with a 40° tip bend. The adjustment of the tines is controlled through shaft bolts at both ends of the rake. Loosening the bolts allows for rotation to a more aggressive or less aggressive angle. Retighten and you’re ready to go.
REAR FINISHING BRUSH
The Rear Brush Attachment is a part of the raking system, which performs a final brush after raking and grooming.
